전쟁기념관 6.25 복합문화공간의 공간구성 개념은 보관적 연결에서 시작된다. 6.25전쟁 복합문화공간은 일상과는 구분된 전쟁이라는 기억이 현재 우리의 일상적인 기록과 연결되어 구체적으로 전승되고 공존할 수 있는 공간으로서 역할을 한다. 또한 공간은 낮은 서가와 책장으로 구성되어있어, 사용자의 시각적 공간경험을 빚어내어 과거의 사건이었던 전쟁을 일상과 연결시켜 "하나의 사건, 모두의 기억"으로 전승할 수 있는 기록의 경험을 체험하게 한다. 남산을 닮은 낮은 서가는 일상을 배경으로하여 살아있는 자들의 소통을 이끌어내고 과거의 기억을 반추하게 한다.

The spatial composition concept of the War Memorial's Korean War Complex Cultural Space begins with archival connection. The Korean War Complex Cultural Space serves as a space where the memory of war, distinct from everyday life, can be concretely passed down and coexist with our current daily records. The space is composed of low bookshelves and bookcases, creating a visual spatial experience for users that connects the past event of war to the present, allowing them to experience the record as "One Event, Everyone's Memory." The low bookshelves, reminiscent of Namsan Mountain, set against the backdrop of everyday life, encourage communication among the living and prompt reflection on past memories.
복도에서 정면으로 바라본 복합문화공간은 투명한 고정유리벽이 위치하여 높낮이가 다른 전시 서가와 그것 너머의 남산 풍경이 펼쳐진다. 서가 틈으로 보이는 사용자들의 모습과 발자취가 서로 연결되며 과거와 현재의 시공간이 하나로 연결된다. 전면 채광창을 통하여 자연광이 공간에 머무는 사람들 위로 떨어지며 공간에 깊이감을 더한다. 강연/집합 공간의 넓은 계단식 스탠드에 앉아 전쟁의 기억과 관련된 사건과 기록을 일상과 함께 반추한다. 6.25전쟁 아카이브 및 복합문화공간이 전시 기록의 경험을 통하여 다음세대에 추상적으로 전승하는 "기록과 사용자"가 주인인 공간으로 거듭나기를 바란다.
Through transparent fixed glass walls, visitors can see varying heights of exhibition bookshelves with Namsan Mountain as a backdrop. Natural light floods the space through front windows, casting shadows on occupants and adding depth to the environment. The tiered seating in the lecture and gathering area provides a place for reflection, where visitors can contemplate war memories and related events alongside their everyday experiences.
The complex cultural space is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including digital theater projectors and 170 seats, making it suitable for education, lectures, seminars, and cultural performances. This multifunctional approach allows the space to serve as a living archive, where the past and present coexist, and where the footsteps of users connect through the gaps between bookshelves, symbolizing the continuity of time and space.
